One big nutrition selling point for so called miracle cure juices is that these juices often contain a berry found only in a remote location creating the feeling that it’s a very limited resource…which of course makes many people want it more. The reality check here is that these unusual fruits don’t have the market on antioxidant content. A lot of fruits contain a high level of antioxidants or have a high antioxidant score (called ORAC which is a number give by researchers and means Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity or the level of antioxidants which can help destroy the free radicals tied to diseases). One fruit is really no better than another in this maze of scores. Juices lack fiber and all the phytonutrients found in the whole fruit. The real deal is to eat whole fruits and vegetables together for the team player or synergistic effect.
