Wow thanks for the information. I use stevia at home for my sweetner and limit my actual use of suger. It is a little pricey but I also dont use neary as much. Its nice to know why and keeps me on the alert when I look at alternatives to suger.

Hi Alex,

Do you bake with stevia as well? What types of recipes/items have you used it in? Were you pleased with the results?

I have been using stevia as a no-calorie sweetener and flavor enhancer in my fruit-ade homemade sports drinks
http://brt-insights.blogspot.com/2009/10/hydration-fruit-ade-natural-sports.html
The stevia purified liquid concentrates that I have been using recently don't have any problems with bitter aftertastes.
http://brt-insights.blogspot.com/2009/10/stevia-natural-sweetener-enhances.html
I'm glad the companies have figured out how to separate the bitter off-flavors from the sweet compounds that the stevia plant produces.
